Myself explaining convection cells in the atmosphere.
Enrico performing a simple experiment illustrating the basic physical mechanism of thermal convection.
In this experiment a convection cell is created in a box containing water. The fluid is cooled on the bottom left side (through contact with ice) and warmed on the bottom right side (through contact with hot water). To visualize the fluid flow, some dye is added to water. (Thanks to Anselmo Pereira)
